quick thoughts 101
see i should be sleeping or studyin, consideringi have a calculas test 2mororw, but o well. find this more important. ok since i havn't blogged in a while, the writing is rusty, but bare with me .

Christianity ought to be the most unique religion in the world. When i say go "serve God", what do you think of? worship? VBS? pastors? talkin to the homeless? see, don't get me wrong, these are great things to do. They are awsome, and they are serving God. But perhaps we are missin the other side of the message, or not enough light has been shown on it, so guess what? yet again, i'm gonna try to tap rarely explored thoughts and areas, and (hopefully) i won't be too far off.

LIke i said before, don't get me wrong. doin all those things are great, but does God call us to do the great works? or is it God that does the great works through us? Does it not say "i can do everything through Him who gives me strength?" there are many who do great things in their lives. perhaps it is moving the hearts of many to know Christ. Perhaps they have rescued somebody out of a burning building, riskin their own lives. Venturing into that 9/11 building to save those they don't even know, and die trying. these are great things, are they not? Yet, like Paul has emphasized so many times in his letters, we are not to boast in ourselves, but God. Is it not God who does good works? Even when it is us (physically) who have done these things, was He not hte one who empowered us? well wait a second. You might be thinking "hold on a second there cy. so all these things are GOd's work, so what the heck do we do? So what we did b4 doens't matteR?" nono, that's not what i'm sayin. i'm sayin that that is not we were meant to do. (oooooo that's a risky statement to make).

We are called, get this, to humble ourselves! What is love? love is giving to somebody what they need the most, when the deserve it the least. ~props to 7:22. well, if that's true, then that means love is not somethin deserved. Love is somethin freely given, with no return of any kind of reward expected. In other words, if we love somebody, even if they don't deserve it, you give it to them anyway. An example. A man is going camping with his wife. They just had a fight, so they decided not to talk. The wife goes to sleep, but the husband is awake. The husband sees that the wife is cold, and despite the fact the argument and what actally happened was her fault (not being sexest here), the man gives her his own sleeping bag and jacket anyway. Does the wife deserve it? by all means, no! But out of love, the husband gave her what she needed the most when she deserved it the least. the next morning, the wife doen'st know how she got those things, but thought that out of her drowizness from last night she got it herself. The husband never brings it up again, not expectin a word of thanks in what he did. That is love. He thought of another before himself, he HUMBLED himself.

And that is what we are called to do. Was giving up a sleeping bag something that big? No, not at all. But it is exactly the little things in life like these that we who call ourselves Christians can really let others see it. IF we can't take care of the little things in life, how can you take care of the big God gives you? Do you speed when you drive? STOP! harD? GOOD! because it's just something so simple, yet we can't do it! u wanna move mountains for God? shake hte foundations of this earth by proclaimin his name? Then deal with the little things in life! Humble urself, and do these little things!
see somebody sititng by themslevs in the cafe? humble urself, take time out for them. you never know, perhaps just like that u become the world to them. download mp3's and movies illegally? stop! it's stealing ,and it's wrong. that simple, black and white. no argument. don't look for loopholes, just stop, because no matter how you rationalize your sin, it's wrong and u know it deep inside. you KNOW it.
feel like using profanity here or there when you are frustrated? stop! it's just one or two words that you gotta control, yet you can't even do that? are you really going to let one or two little words compromise your faith? seriously, if somebody hears that you are a Christian and you use profanity like there's no tomorrow, guess what? Yes you are saved, but no you didn't live like one. you have failed Him in every possible way.
you get hte point. reflect and think a little about the smallest of things in life. your attitude towards school. how you treat people around you. what you say to those who offend you. Every little detail counts.
If you don't know what it took for Jesus to go on that cross for you, go watch passion. Every bone in his body was dislocated. He was cut and bruised beyond recognition of the original person. He was scorned and mocked by those He came to save. His friends betrayed Him. GOd Himself turned His face away.
"my God, why have you forsaken me?"

~it was our sins that held Him there
every little wrongdoing, He took the hit. Don't let what Jesus did for you be in vein. Take up the cross, and live it out. not just preach, or teach, but show. live it out. call urself a Christian? PROVE it. show it. i DARE you to live radically for Christ. I challenge you. I promise you that if you do, your rewards will be beyond the limits your imagination can stretch.
